One of the biggest experiences as a leader to this point in my life is being the oldest of five kids. My parents told me from a young age that my younger siblings would always look up to me. Whatever I would do, they would want to do. So, I learned at a young age to be responsible, respectful, and well mannered. My siblings tell me all the time that they are proud to have an older sister like me because of the continuous support and love that I have showed them. Not a day goes by that I’m not thankful for the relationships that I have built with them over the years. I can say that my siblings are more than the people that I grew up with, they are my best friends.

My most current experience with leadership as of today would be my job. I have worked as an eyewear consultant for the past two and a half years within Luxottica. Working in sales has taught me very valuable lesson. Patients will leave an eye exam or come into our office looking for glasses. My job is to build confidence and trust to help them find a perfect pair. I first have to help them find a frame that fits their personality. I have to explain the product to patients, so that they can understand what they are paying for. After the frame is picked out, we move on to what type of lens materials would work best with their prescription. Once the frame and the lens materials are picked I give a price quote to patients. This insures that patients have an understanding of what insurance has been able to discount them.
